Abstract

This paper presents the modeling and real-time simulation of the Electronic Throttle Control System (ETCS) using LabVIEW software and data acquisition devices. Simulation parameters are established based on experimental data collected from the electronic throttle body of a Chevrolet Captiva. The control signal from the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) serves as the input for simulating system operation. The simulation results are then converted into physical signals via the Ni-6009 DAQ device, which provides feedback to the ECU, forming a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) system for evaluating ECU control functions. Test results show a strong correlation between simulated and actual signals, confirming that the ECU effectively utilizes the simulated signals for throttle control. This helps to reduce errors during the testing of electronic throttle control algorithms. The successful implementation of the HIL for electronic throttle systems contributes to the development of  HIL systems for automotive engines, streamlining research and validation before real-world deployment.
