Abstract

In this paper, a pulse-width modulation (PWM) scheme for the three-level T-type inverter (TL-T2I) to eliminate common-mode voltage (CMV) is presented. Compare to the traditional PWM strategy, this scheme only uses the vectors that generate zero CMV. As a result, the CMV of the converter is eliminated. Therefore, the negative effects of CMV are limited to the maximum. Furthermore, the principles of selecting suitable high-frequency carrier signals for the T-Type inverter topology is described. To verify the theory presented in this paper, simulation and experimental results are implemented by software PSIM and experimental prototype.
