Abstract

Technical pedagogy programme in training curriculum of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE) had been trained since its establishment. However, in recent years, by many reasons, this programme has been stopped training for formal students. With the desire to find out HCMUTE students’ perspectives on technical pedagogical training in the university, the research was conducted to clarify five main contents related to technical pedagogy, including: (1) Students' perception of pedagogical training issues in the university; (2) The necessity of the pedagogical field at work as well as life in the future, the student's passion and desire for job opportunities related to pedagogy; (3) The students' willingness to study pedagogy; (4) The difference between in students’ pedagogical passion as well as willingness to study pedagogy programes with the school years and training systems; (5) The difference between the students’ pedagogical passion with willingness to study pedagogy programes, desire for job opportunities related to pedagogy to propose the future direction for pedagogy field at the University. The results of the analysis data that collected from 1,601 students who is studying at the university indicate that there is a difference in the selection rate at different levels with the content of the research, but there is no difference between the pedagogy passion, willingness to study pedagogy programes with the school years and training systems. There are about 30% to 50% of students ready to study pedagogy, especially a group of students who are passionate about pedagogy. Furthermore, the study also proposes some recommendations to find out suitable solutions in training the technical pedagogy field at the University in the future.

Thi Dieu Hien Dang, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, Vietnam

Dang Thi Dieu Hien. Born in 1978, Dong Thap province, Vietnam. Received the B.S. degree in Garment Technology from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), Vietnam, in 2000. She got a B.A. degree in English from University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam. She M.A. degree in Education from HCMUTE, in 2008 and Ph.D. degree in Education in 2022, at HCMUTE.
She had four years experiences in working as a technician in the garment industry. From 2004 – 2018, she was a lecturer and became a senior lecturer since 2018 up to now at Institute of Technical Education, HCMUTE, Vietnam.
She is interesting in researching in education fields such as: student’s core competencies, learning and teaching methodologies, assessment. Her book were published: Planning skill, Vietnam National University. Ho Chi Minh City, 2016.

Thi Bich Bui, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, Vietnam

Bui Thi Bich. Born in 1975, Quang Yen province, Quang Ninh,.Vietnam. Received the B.A. degree in Psychology from HCMC University of Educatin, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in 2001 and M.A. degree in Psychology from HCMC University of Educatin, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in 2008.
Her books were published: Psychology’s point of view on over the world, Vietnam National University. Ho Chi Minh City, 2015; Engineering Psychology, Vietnam National University. Ho Chi Minh City, 2022.
From 2003 up to now, she has been lecturer at Institute of Technical Education, HCMUTE.

Nhu Khuong Nguyen, Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education, Vietnam

Nguyen Nhu Khuong. Born in 1982, Binh Duong province, Vietnam. Received the B.A. degree in Psychology and Education from HCMC University of Education, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in 2004 and M.A. degree in Education from HCMC University of Technology and Education, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, in 2010. Her books were published: State Administrative Management and Management of Education and Training, Vietnam National University. Ho Chi Minh City, 2014; 80 Questions about State Management of Education and Training, Vietnam National University. Ho Chi Minh City, 2015.
From 2004 up to now, she has been a lecturer at Institute of Technical Education, HCMCUTE
