Abstract

This paper presents the experimental results of a water electrolysis module which provides mixture of Oxygen and Hydrogen for the intake air motorcycle. It aims to reduce HC-gas into the environment through exhaust gas. The water electrolysis module is a subsystem installed in the motorcycle, using electrical energy from alternator to produce Hydrogen and Oxygen mixture. With the balance of Hydrogen and Oxygen ratio from the electrolysis system and the study does not discuss the A/F ratio, the experiments only focus on optimizing HHO supplement to balance energy between producing energy from burning HC gas and electric energy consumption. The study evaluates the responsiveness of the HHO module for popular motorcycles first and then it helps to optimize operation parameters for different operating modes. This system is controlled by an electronic controller. These results of study are foundation for research to reduce emissions from motorcycle engines, reduce fuel consumption and protect the environment.
