The study aims to design, manufacture and test a brewers grains miller for animal feed. Design and calculation results have identified structural parameters of the horizontal hammer mill for brewer grains milling. The miller has been manufactured with capacity 20 kg/h. The milling material is brewer grains with moisture content of 10 ± 1%. The required fineness of milling powder is from 0.2 to 0.8 mm. Experimental studies have been conducted to evaluate the effects of operating parameters of the miller to powdered quality and specific energy consumption, namely, amount of feed, speed of hammer mill, clearance between hammers mill and milling chamber. The relationship of the parameters was built by mathematical models through experimental data.
