The article presents the research on converting the ignition system of a military automobile with the original system of a contact semiconductor ignition system replaced by a non-contact semiconductor ignition system. Components of the new ignition system are selected on the basis of similar equipment available on the market.
In the voltage divider of (the) ignition system of engine ЗИЛ130, there is a shut off cam with 8 cam tabs to control the switch on and switch off of the contact pair. Therefore, when replacing by a non-contact semiconductor ignition system, it is required to design the control device to generate electrical pulses by redesigning the splitter axis. The results of the study have compared the performance parameters of the engine when using these two types of ignition systems with increased power and torque. However, more importantly, with the new ignition system, the price is not high but the maintenance and repair effort is reduced. This ignition system has also been applied for many automobiles at Central Middle Technical School.
